Quit...scrrreamin' at me! [Friday 04.04.2008 - 11:38am]
[ mood | busy ]
[ music | I'm a Believer -- The Monkees ]

Another entry?! This soon?! You betcha! Hard to believe, right?! I must warn ya, it's super long! Sorry 'bout that!

First off, I cannot believe I almost forgot this, but it has been 5 years TODAY since we met the Hardy Boyz (April 4th, 2003)! And it was on a Friday, too!! Yippee!! :D

Daddy, Sis, and I have had tons o' fun these past few days!

In the mail just a few days ago, I got an autographed 60's pic of Davy in reply to the Christmas card I sent! I was leaping for joy! It said, "(My name), love David Jones". I can never get tired of getting that kind of mail!

Let me see...went out for Chinese last Friday. Super good! Oh, and I have become ADDICTED to Burger King's York Peppermint Pies! They are sooooo good, so we stopped by there and I got some pie, plus Daddy and Sis got some shakes (she also got a Hershey's pie to try for later).

On Sat., we went to that really nice mall about an hour from our house. Sis was gonna go on her b-day weekend, but stuff happened, so we did it this past weekend instead.

When we got there, there was this HOT guy in the parking garage. Kinda looked like James Augustine, although I'm not attracted to James in that way (I don't think he's ugly or anything, just average, ya know?). I only caught a glimpse of the guy, but from what I saw...WHAMMY!

I can't begin to name ALL the stores we went to, but the first one we went to (Sharper Image) had these really awesome light sabers in them, including Anakin's (which Sis tells me is really hard to find!)! So that was awesome. Sis and I were really "Duked out" and we got alot of comments about it (ALL positive, which isn't always the case!)! This man in Sharper Image said it was good to see some Dukies, and a woman who worked at Sephora said something like, "Yay, go Duke!" and that she had graduated from there, or her husband did. She asked if we WENT there, and we said no. Sis made sure to add that she wanted to, though!

A kinda quirky dude made a comment when we went in Macy's. He was nice enough, but it's like he was trying a little too hard to make conversation. Like he was just trying to come up with stuff to say. First, he too asked if we went there! It's pretty darn cool that ppl mistake us for students, let me tell ya...haha. Sis had on her Duke #4 shirt, of course, and he said something like, "I thought you would've had on the number of..." and from this point, he didn't have a clue as to who he was referring to. We named off all these diff. players, and the man was like, "He's a forward," or something like that.

Finally, we arrived at Demarcus, and he was like, "That's him!" Of course, Demarcus is a guard, but at that point we were just naming off players, regardless of position. So as we walked away, we 3 came to the conclusion the guy had NO CLUE about Duke b-ball. I mean, he could be just a casual fan who don't know the players' positions (heck, I don't know them ALL by heart!). I dunno what the deal was, but hey, at least he had nice things to say, regardless of how confused he seemed to be, lol.

We came upon Cheesecake Factory, and a man outside of there was a Dukie too! He was attending a convention, and was from outta town. He was super nice, and him and Daddy had a nice convo, b/c the man belonged to a group that my grandpa (Daddy's dad) used to belong to! It's a national thing, so the man didn't know my grandpa or anything like that. But it was a neat encounter. It would be so nice if more ppl in the world were like that man. So easy-going, so friendly, and he didn't know us from Adam.

We would've actually ATE at Cheesecake Factory, but we weren't wild about the hour and a half wait...lol. So, we stopped inside Claire's (me and Sis), while Daddy sat outside. There was a buy 2, get 1 pair free earrings sale! Sis got two really pretty dangly pairs of blue and silver earrings, and I got a cute pair of monkey earrings. I have become borderline obsessed lately with all things monkEY-related (in addition to being MonkEE-obsessed...haha). This is mainly thanks to Curious George, hehe. Back in the day, I would get alot of monkEY stuff b/c it reminded me of the MonkeES. But now, there's an additional factor...all cuz of the CG movie. He is just so adorable! Like Davy, 'cept in an "awwwww" way instead of "RAAAAWR!" Haha!

I can't remember all the Duke comments, but I sure wish I could! Oh, and we stopped in some prom dress stores, and I saw some CJS socks in one!

After the mall, the last couple o' days, and mucho más!! )

Fresh out the box, stop look and watch, ready yet? Get set...it's Aaaall That! [Wednesday 03.26.2008 - 12:14pm]
[ mood | working ]
[ music | Pennsylvania Polka -- Andrews Sisters ]

Been a busy bee lately (haha), hence why there hasn't been an entry 'til now. Soooo...here's what's up!

Had a relaxed, awesome Easter with my family! Daddy cooked BBQ chicken on the grill, and it was DELICIOUS! We went to see Drillbit Taylor later on, which was hilarious!

Also over the weekend, we celebrated Sis turning THE BIG 1-8!! We went to Texas Steakhouse. It was really good! Went over to Mama's for a bit, and Sis attempted to get some really cute stray cats to come to her, with no such luck. Sis and I also had some giggles over some funny noises involving the steps and some decorations, hehe. Stopped at Wal-mart for some stuff Daddy needed to fix something. Daddy got Sis a cuuuuuute Shrek cake, complete with Shrek (of course), Donkey, Puss in Boots, and a little castle backdrop. It was so pretty! And yummy! As for her presents, she got a DX poster, Spongebob stickers, a Simba light-up pen, a tiger notebook, the Enchanted DVD, and a Duke coat...all from me and Daddy.

Mama gave her 18 dollars and a Duke license plate. THEN, when we got back in for the night, Daddy's got ANOTHER surprise in store for Sis. He tells her to go over to another part of the room and get a "little something extra" that he thought she might like. She discovers (what looks like) a bag, and he tells her it's a type of bookbag. I know all about what's in store, and I say, "Yeah, it's like a messenger bag! You can even put decals on it and stuff!" THEN, from beside his chair, Daddy grabs another box and is like, "But you may wanna put this in it first!" Inside the box was A LAPTOP! Sis was thrilled!! The "bookbag" was, of course, a laptop case...hehe.

Y'see, a few weeks ago, Daddy was working on a friend's (he's the one with the place at the beach we went to in Sept.) laptop, and Sis and I both got kinda hooked on playing around with it...hehe. So that's how Daddy was inspired to give one to Sis. It was an awesome time! A fun night for all!

I slept in (waaaaaaay in, lol) Sat. and got some much needed zzzz's. So the next few bits are based on what Sis and Daddy told me later. They went out and about to run some errands and such. They went to the grocery store, then went by this man who used to keep lions' house...yes, lions! The 3 of us went by there a couple of weeks or so ago, but my uncle later informed Daddy and Sis (on Sat.) that he no longer has them. Anyway, as Daddy and Sis were riding along, they had a little mishap. They got a flat tire! Luckily, they got in touch with this nice farmer who pumped some air into the spare that Daddy had (it was low!). In no time at all, they were off and riding again!

They went to my uncle's gun shop after that. A man came in there that Daddy used to go to school with, and my uncle knew him pretty well. Sis told me that my uncle addressed him in pretty comical ways, and that, based on what Daddy told her later, he used to be sort of a former hippie! Sis also told me that my uncle had some old west-looking guns in the shop...and some not-so-average "decorations"! Oh, and he had some authentic Indian jewelry too, which I'd definitely love to check out some time! There was also this funny long-running joke involving my aunt that cropped up in conversation with my dad, uncle, and my aunt (over the phone)...hehe. So Daddy and Sis had a pretty busy, yet fun (in spite of the tire) afternoon! And so did I, cuz I really needed that sleep...lol.

Thoughts about Duke, wrestling-related happenings, hot pics, and more! )

Let's get tropical! [Monday 03.03.2008 - 3:39pm]
[ mood | okay ]
[ music | Crushcrushcrush -- Paramore ]

It's been a super fun, awesome time these past few days! My AMAZING daddy has put a new hard drive in my comp, so I now have over 3 times more space than with my other one (which was getting WAY full...all those JD vids and such, hehe). He did the same thing with Sis's, plus he got us new printers, cuz they too just weren't working...and haven't been since the day we got them really!! So yeah, I LOVE the new hard drive. He added some memory too, so it's lightning fast with that, plus all the space!

Sis and I played LOTS of Uno this weekend. But not just any Uno... PIRATES 3 UNO!! Hehe. Yeah, when Jack and Will are all over the playing cards, it's kind of addicting. ;) I bought the special P3 Uno cards at B-A-M on Friday, plus a book, aaaaaand some hot chocolate and a lemon bar. Couldn't resist, mate...hehe. Before Sis and I headed to B-A-M, we (plus Daddy) went to this local Japanese food restaurant. Sis and I had never been, but Daddy said it was really good. And he was most certainly right! It was delicious! We all had these Hibachi chicken and steak dishes with rice. Mmmmm-mmmm good! We had been meaning to go for at least a week.

On Thursday, Daddy cooked one of those yummy huge breakfasts. Then, on Saturday, we got some biscuits from Bojangles! Man, that was good. It had been awhile since I'd had Bj's for breakfast. I've had it in the last month or so, just not for brekkie. Anyhoo, watched the Duke game, and boy, was it close! TOO close. I really did not know how that one was gonna turn out. But yay for Coach K.'s 800th win!! :)

Daddy, Sis, and I saw Semi-Pro over the weekend. It was HILARIOUS! We saw Witless Protection last weekend, and that was funny, too. Also, we went to my FAVE local steakhouse last weekend for a laaaaaate b-day celebration...hehe. We had been meaning to get there for awhile too!

The funniest thing happened when we were there. This man came towards our table, and he looked JUST LIKE our uncle. Well, Sis was already poised to say hey to him, but stopped herself when she realized it wasn't him...lol. However, there is a little twist. It turns out Daddy DID know the man, and he actually knew that exact uncle (Daddy's brother) pretty well too! He had been pretty close with him when they were kids! The man was really nice, and he and Daddy had a neat conversation. Daddy even told him about Sis thinking he was our uncle, and the man got a kick outta that, lol.

Ah yes, last weekend was also the Oscars, as you know. SOO HAPPY about JD's 3rd nomination! First time I've seen him there in 3 years! I actually saw a good chunk of it live (instead of recorded) for the first time EVER! But, I really don't think I woulda missed much had we not stayed at the house for that period of time (before going to Wal-mart). I was already mentally prepared for DDL to get the Best Actor award. BUT, unlike previous years, I hardly saw ANY JD parts during the segment I watched. Of course, needless to say, when I did get to see him, he looked GORGEOUS!!! The look on his face after the Sweeney clip was just adorable...hehe.

Later on, thanks to the DVR, I got to see that ST DID win for Art Direction! LOOOOVED seeing Johnny all throughout that part, and him blowing that kiss was just too cute! It was so awesome how the Rock was there, AND presented an award that P3 was nominated for! Oh if only it had won! Then one of my fave wrestlers would have been presenting an award to the ppl involved with one of my fave movies! It was so great seeing him and Viggo there, in addition to Johnny, looking all hot! :D I would have never imagined seeing all 3 of them together like that! At the Oscars, no less! But that was the ONLY thing that made the show worth watching. Other than that, I could've cared less. I do wish I could have seen JD in a red carpet interview, though! :( But, at least I got to see him! :D

And what a sight he was! ♥ ♥ ♥

BEAUTIMUS Johnny Oscar pics and surveys await! )

Ummm...why did you eat my boots, Mr. Krabs? [Thursday 02.07.2008 - 10:49am]
[ mood | chipper ]
[ music | Epiphany -- Sweeney ST! ]

Why do I only have 2 icons? If the icons feature truly didn't work like it says, then why would I still have 2 icons? 'Tis odd. I really have no clue why I'm posting here. Then again, maybe I do...*points to Morty*...hehe. I know, I know. I didn't just pick this screenname at random, y'know...haha.

As usual, it's been awhile. But 'tis the nature of how I post, lol. I actually started an entry about a week ago, but I've now decided to just start over b/c of how long it was getting. Not only that, but also how long it was GONNA get with all the new stuff that's happened since the last time I added to it. So anyway, I'm gonna start with current events (like most normal ppl, haha) and just go from there. Ya dig? Aaaaaaaalrighty then!

I had an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME birthday! It was filled with great company and great fun! I turned the big 2-4, which just feels weird. I can't describe it. I'm probably the only 20-something who would give anything to be between 13-17 again. I don't drink, smoke, or party like a fiend, so it's not like I'd be missing anything, lol. Of course, I guess I'd wanna be at least 16, so I could still drive.

ANYway, so here's what all happened. Daddy, Sis, and I went out for my fave meal (Chinese). Mama stopped by with my gift. She gave me a big plush rose (my b-day is so close to V-day that all that kind of stuff is out in abundance), some Jack and Will valentine cards (for me AND Sis), a cute little notebook with a bug-eyed cat on the front, a vanilla sugar candle, a "special daughter" charm, and a POTC-themed card (with Jack and Will on the front...:D)!

THEN, after dinner, we came back and Sis and Daddy surprised me with a POTC BIRTHDAY CAKE!! It was so pretty! The coloring was primarily blue and orange, and it had palm trees, a plastic little stand-up ship thingy, Jack, and Will figurines on it! The 2 and 4 candles were really pretty too! Oh, and there was this decal looking thing that had plastic under it, and the front said "Pirates of the Caribbean" on it, with the skull and crossbones and all that. Then, when Daddy pulled it out, he was like, "It's a necklace!" But, due to Sis's further investigation, we later figured out it was an EYE PATCH! Hehe! So that was pretty cool!

After that, it was time to watch the big game...DUKE VS. UNC!! And I got another awesome b-day present...DUKE WON!! NOT ONLY THAT, BUT THEY WON BY ELEVEN POINTS!! I was hoping that they'd win, esp. for my b-day (hehe), but they exceeded what I even hoped for!

Later on, we stopped by Wal-mart. Sis and I had been "Duked out" all day, by the way, hehe. She had on a new Duke shirt from Christmas, and graciously let me wear one of our fave Duke shirts...the Duke #4 one...hehe. While in W-M, Daddy was trying to get something off a shelf, and it kept trying to fall off. He made a joke about it, within earshot of an employee. She looked right over there, but had no reaction. No laugh or anything. In fact, she had a downright attitude!

Well, Sis later informs me and Daddy that she couldn't be too sure, but she thought she may have seen that woman DECKED OUT in Carolina stuff before. So that was why she may have had an attitude, since me and Sis were standing right there with Daddy in our DUKE stuff after Carolina LOST to Duke! So, as we're walking away, Daddy makes a special point to comment WITHIN her earshot (once again) on how bad Duke whupped Carolina and all that...hahaha! It was good stuff.

We went to Micky D's afterwards, and the man at the window caught glimpse of mine and Sis's Duke shirts (and her hat), and he was like, "Did Duke win tonight?" Apparently he hadn't seen the game, and Daddy told him that they had, and the man was obviously happy about it. He said something like, "Ya'll must be true Blue Devils fans!" or something like that. And Daddy said, "Yeah, they love 'em!" He also told the man, "They'd be wearing that stuff win, lose, or draw!" And that's right! Hehehe. So that was a fun moment.

Like I said, amazing birthday, and an amazing day all around! :D

I got an awesome early b-day "present" Sunday night. I had gotten Daddy to get in touch with my uncle a few months ago about getting some home movies of my grandpa (who passed away when I was 2). Well, my uncle stopped by and dropped off 2 DVD's he'd made from tapes he had, full of home movie clips of Daddy, Mama, my grandpa, Gramma, various family members, and some of me as a baby! It was soooo amazing to finally, after all these years, see actual footage of my grandpa. I'd only seen pictures of him my whole life (since after he died), and unfortunately, I have no memories of him.

I watched the movies that night with Daddy and Sis, and it was so great b/c Daddy was able to tell us all these stories behind what we were seeing. It was so amazing and cool getting to see my family and all these different moments before I can even remember!

Everything else under the sun! )

Because, because, because...*echos* [Tuesday 01.01.2008 - 1:24pm]
[ mood | giddy ]
[ music | Pretty Women -- Johnny in ST :D ]

Happy New Year, my frieeeeeeeeeeeeeends! :)

My mood is SOO giddy, in fact, that I put one P in "happy" instead of 2. *crazy chuckle*

Quick question: Anyone know of a GOOD web-based place that I can download youtube vids from, where I don't have to convert it from an .flv vid? Or if not web-based, at least a good, free program that I can d/l the vid into a reasonably sized file that plays well (preferably a wmv one), and doesn't give me 500 viruses (haha)? Oh, and the same goes for the web-based place. Some sites I click on, I see 50 trojan warnings pop up! Yikes!

So anyhow, yeah, I'm not asking much, lol. Thanks for any help you all can give! I would appreciate it TREMENDOUSLY! :D

Well, I've now tweaked this post to include a real update (I made an earlier post like this, 'cept it was just the above question, not this update), so here goes...hehe.

On New Year's Eve, Sis, Daddy, and I went to that local celebration to see the "heart" drop. There weren't as many ppl there as there were last year, and most of the crowd seemed to be middle school kids or younger! It was weird. But we had fun being a part of the celebration. We rode around town a little while after that, visited Mama, then came back to the house watched the ball drop on TV (the DVR'd version, lol). Sis and I still have yet to watch Raw though! *gasp* But anyway, we had a really fun, relaxing New Year's Eve!

This past Friday, I made sure to get the Doors shirt from Wal-mart (the same one I gave Sis), AND I got a DX one! Asked about the Sweeney soundtrack, no such luck. *sigh* Oh yeah, we went out to that delicious local seafood place before that (me, Daddy, Sis), then afterwards, Sis and I got an oreo shake and chocolate malt from Hardee's. It was a really fun evening!

Movie we saw this weekend, Davy picspam, and surveys! )

Heh heh...I was only kidding...maybe I'll just have some nice tinker toys... [Friday 12.28.2007 - 1:35pm]

[ music | O Holy Night -- Jewel ]

Well, I had a VERY AMAZING Christmas! :D

Christmas Eve was an especially busy day, but fun! A bunch of the family came over. My uncle and his wife's brother came over earlier in the day and gave us our gifts. Then, my other uncle and aunt, my cousins, and their families came over a few hours later. One of my cousins and his wife have 3 sons (one of which was just born a couple of months ago...I told about his birth around the state fair time). They are 9, 6, and well, about 2 months old! My other cousin and her husband have one girl who turns 2 the day after Davy's b-day (New Year's Eve!).

Anyway, Daddy gave the older boys some neat little helmets with lights on them, some LED lanterns, and for the both of them, a Cars tent! The oldest IMMEDIATELY took the box outside and PROCEEDED to put up the tent by himself!! Well, with the help of his bro. Their mom told us that you could always tell when they liked something, b/c they took it away JUST like that, and had to play with it immediately. They did manage to get it up though, but their mom told about how funny it was when they first were trying to put it up. I can't even describe what she said it looked like at first, but it was hilarious-sounding...hahaha.

We gave their baby brother a cute stuffed white bear with a blue tux, and the little girl of my other cousin's a brown stuffed bear with a little red and green dress. The little girl seemed to like her bear, b/c she hugged it real tight soon after opening it...hehe. Oh, and pretty shortly after, SHE joined her older cousins in the tent, haha. In fact, most of the fam went out to watch the kids play in the tent. They had all these pecans inside (gotten off the ground from falling off the trees), and were throwing them out the little flap, lol.

There were also some funny movie-related jokes Daddy made while we were outside, and my uncle and cousin talked about how there might be a certain kind of "smoke" coming from the tent...and I think you know what I mean, lol! So funny considering the occupants are 9, 6, and 2!

My cousin (father of the 3 boys) let me feed the baby boy (when we were inside the house earlier). I enjoyed it, but at the same time, I was pretty nervous b/c I hardly ever hold babies, much less feed them! Last time I fed one was when my 9 y/o cousin (his oldest son) was a baby (the one who was outside with his bro pelting everyone with pecans...haha!)! My other cousin (when she first came in, cuz that's when I first started feeding him) said I looked natural at it...haha. But anyway, the baby is such a sweetheart. He didn't cry once, and he even started to doze off at one point! I was about to tell my cousin that I thought the baby was through, but just about the time I was gonna say the words, he opened his eyes wide and started drinking again! Hehe...he is sooo precious!!!

Christmas and more! )

Asante sana squash banana.... [Saturday 12.15.2007 - 5:32pm]
[ mood | tired ]
[ music | The Christmas Song -- Nat King Cole ]

Wow, halfway through December already? TEN DAYS 'TIL CHRISTMAS?!! NOO...WAY!

Hmmm...well, while I'm getting over the shock of December zooming on by, I figure I'll do a little update,'bout this big...hehe.

Daddy put up the tree, decorations, and everything about two weeks ago. It looks GORGEOUS!! Every year, he adds something new or puts a new twist on all the decorations. For instance, he's got the reindeer lifted up on tall wooden stakes so that it looks like they're really flying! And he's got colored lights going up Rudolphs's pole! Then, with the house decorations, on the mantle he's added a little store. Oh, and he used white tinsel this year for snow! Plus he's got a Christmasy little teddy bear and penguin (the one I got last year from ol' Saint Nick) on top of the store. And the very top shelf of the mantle, he's got blue and red lights shining on the nutcracker candles, and in the middle he's got a Christmasy dog. The penguin and dog might be in diff. places, but my mind's fuzzy so I'm not sure. Haha.

On the same day he put up the decorations, we went to see "Awake" later on that night. It was really good! But then again, Hayden was in it, so how could it not be? Sis and I were fully enjoying the Hayden hotness...hehe. Seriously though, it had a really good (yet, disturbing!) story, FULL of plot twists and such.

The week before last, I went to B-A-M again, got some hot choc. and a lemon bar, sat down with Daddy (and later on, Sis) and did some reading. It was so fun!! I don't do that as often as I used to, so it's extra nice when I get to. Especially with Daddy and Sis! I used to practically live at that place...haha. Daddy's friend even asked once (back when I was going regularly) if I had an address there or something...lol.

OHHHHHH...WE GOT PIRATES 3 WEEK BEFORE LAST TOO!! Sis and I watched the movie AND ALL the features in a 2 day spell...haha. We practically watched all the special features in one day! And of course, if I were gonna pick fave features, I'd probably pick the bloopers, deleted scenes, the Multiple Jacks featurette, and the Johnny/Keith featurette. Oh yeah, and the search for the perfect peanut "Easter egg"...hehehe. Yep, we had some fun times watching the DVD!

The Raw 15 Anniv. was AWESOME! My mouth totally dropped when Edge came out and joined Randy! OMG! They both looked gorgeous, of course, and their match with Evolution was great! Loooooved Shawn's multiple appearances too! I can never get enough of his shexy self...hehe. Oh yeah, and speaking of shexy, I LOVED Chris's bit with Eric. So glad he got to tell him a thing or two...lol. I can't even describe it, but ever since Chris came back, it's totally brought new life back into Raw. Not that it wasn't good before, but you know. And as for Monday night's eppy, I wish every show could be EXACTLY like that!

I loved all those flashbacks, too. They showed quite a few I remember! And what's so neat is that, every time Raw has an anni., that means it's been another 5 years me and Sis have been wrestling fans! Cuz we've been fans 5 years, and the show was celebrating it's 10 year anni. when we first started watching. So that's pretty darn cool.

I kept holding out hope that the Rock might show up, or do a vid clip, or something. But even though he didn't, that bit at the end with Stone Cold was soooo funny. Then, when he said what he did about the fans, that was really cool.

More Christmasy things, JJ and JD pics, and much more! )

ChanGING me... [Saturday 12.01.2007 - 1:48pm]
[ mood | lazy ]
[ music | We Need A Little Christmas -- Johnny Mathis ]

Wow, there's been lots of awesomeness in the past week or so!

Thanksgiving was sooo fun and AMAZING! Daddy, Sis, and I did our tradition of going to Ryan's and having that yummy buffet, complete with turkey, steak, and everything else under the sun. The lady who waited on us remembered us from when we used to go there regularly, and she was really friendly! The food was delicious, of course. After that, we came back to the house for a bit, enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather, got a visit from our fave dog next door, aaaaand then, Sis and I came back inside and watched some of Chocolat. We came in the house just in time to see Johnny...*sigh* I tell ya, I can never get tired of seeing him in that...or anything else for that matter...haha. But you get my meaning. It has been TOO LONG since I've seen that movie!! Anyhoo...as if sitting there, drooling over Roux wasn't fun enough, what should we see DURING the movie? A SWEENEY TODD COMMERCIAL!! ONE OF THE NEW ONES WITH SHORT SNIPPETS OF "A LITTLE PRIEST" AND "EPIPHANY"! So yeah, we were tickled pink over that!!

THEN, the good times continued, b/c we went to the movies and saw Enchanted! It was AWESOME!! It's really a rare thing that a recent movie makes me and Sis feel like kids again, but this one sure did! And of course, we looooved seeing James M.!! It was sooo great to finally hear him sing on the big screen! I say finally cuz we first got a peek at his beautiful singing voice back on the (now defunct) Craig Kilborn show back in '03. So we always knew he could sing. And since we haven't seen Hairspray, this is the first movie we saw him singing in!

It was also really cool seeing all these nods to former Disney animated movies through general plot moments/characters and cameos (the voices of Belle, Ariel, and Pocahontas all made appearances). 'Twas a fun movie all the way around!

A bit of everything else )

Mackeral, whatever that is... [Thursday 11.15.2007 - 4:00pm]
[ mood | jubilant ]
[ music | JOHNNY singing "My Friends"! ]

I am in absolute bliss at this very moment. The only thing that could make it any better would be if I had some imagery to go along with this BEAUTIFUL MAN'S BEEEEAAAAUTIFUL SINGING VOICE!! Oh well, I think I can picture it pretty good, given the Sweeney clips, pics, etc. *siiiiiiiiigh*

I mean, I just...I can't even put it into words. To say that Johnny's singing is BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, AND ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL feels like such an understatement! It's absolutely MORE than I could have even imagined it would be. I mean, sure, I've always had an idea of what he'd sing like, given the trailer blip, his sexy speaking voice, etc. But, oh MY GOODNESS...I'm now OFFICIALLY ABOUT TO BURST WITH EXCITEMENT OVER THIS MOVIE!!! Well, not like I wasn't before, but you know. I didn't think it was possible, but I love Johnny even more. Yeah...like you've never heard THAT before. But, yeah...and that probably won't be the last time I say it, b/c the man gives me a new reason to love him more and more on a daily basis.

To borrow a quote from Spongebob...his voice sounds "just like I dreamt it would." Hehehe. Actually, it surpasses what I dreamt it would sound like...but anyhoo. That's all. I'll shut up my gushing...for now. ;)

We went to Western Sizzlin' last night, and it was absolutely delish. After that, I actually rode my scooter when I got back! I say actually b/c I haven't been able to for the past few weeks cuz it's been so bloody chilly! It still was plenty cool, 'specially with the wind, but it was sooo fun.

We had fun playing the golf video game with Daddy this past Saturday...hehe. Sis had kinda got into that game for a bit, then I did, and since Daddy plays it all the time with his friends, he played with us and gave us some much needed help on how we could play better! My cousin came by at one point (the one who loves Duke, and saw P1 and 2 with us), wearing a Duke sweatshirt, of course (hehe). She needed a big pot to cook some chili at a bonfire nearby. So Daddy got that for her, and then, it was back to the game...hehe.

Daddy's cooked some big breakfasts for the past 2 Saturdays in a row! We hadn't had those in a while, so that was really awesome. And very delicious! :D

We saw Fred Claus this past weekend. It was really funny! It totally got us all in the Christmas spirit, b/c we listened to some Christmas music playing on the radio on the way back.

I tell ya, it's a great time for movies right now. There's so many I'm anticipating seeing. SWEENEY (of course), Enchantment (with James M.!), Awake (with Hayden!), and Southland Tales (with the Rock!). In fact, Sis and I saw a trailer for Awake the other night during RAW, and we absolutely flipped our lids...haha.

Early Monday morning, I finally saw The Libertine! Can you believe it's taken me this long to see a Johnny movie released in '05?! Like he does with his singing (see top few paragraphs), he totally blew me away with his performance in this movie. The whole cast did a great job.

All about Halloween and more! )

AaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAH... [Saturday 10.27.2007 - 3:25pm]
[ mood | good ]
[ music | Johnny's blip of singing in the ST trailer! ]

Lots has happened since the last time I wrote! Even though there hasn't been alot of time passed, quite a bunch has happened in a relatively short time!

I FINALLY got a haircut last Tues. It feels so much better to not have that heavy mop of hair on my head...lol. I got about 5 inches or so cut off. Sis got her's pretty short, too! It a smidge above her shoulders now, and mine's a little bit below mine. Her's wasn't all that long before, but mine was way down my back, so it was way past time for a haircut. I have to admit, if my hair was thinner, I'd have it long all the time. But the longer it gets, the THICKER it gets, and I just can't stand it!

OOOOH, while I was in beauty shop, I thought I faintly heard "Love Her Madly" playing just outside the room I was in. So naturally, I was all giddy inside. Sis later confirmed that it was indeed that song, b/c she and Daddy were in the waiting area (where it could be heard more clearly) while I was back in another room.

The beautician was talking about how she watched The Bachelor, and how he was really good-looking and stuff like that. As I was leaving, she told me it came on Mondays at 10, and I said, "Well, that's no good, cuz it's Raw night." Hahaha. I went on to say something like "Now as far as good looks go, some of those wrestlers are extremely good-looking!" And she was like, "Yeah, they are hot!" Hehehe. So that was a neat little moment, getting to talk about wrestling.

My cousin and his wife had a new addition to their family last Monday! So on Tues., we went to visit our new baby cousin (and Daddy's great nephew)! He's absolutely precious. I held him for a bit, and he didn't fuss or anything! His mom talked about how she was afraid that he was saving all his crying for when he got home...lol.

On Thursday, Daddy, Sis, and I went to the state fair!! It was sooooo fun!! LOTS of walking though. My feet were killing me by the time we were through. Sis and I rode all our faves from previous years: The Alpine Bobs, Flying Bobs, the PIRATE ship :D, Orbiter, Tilt-a-whirl, both versions of the swings, the Spider, the hang-gliders, the Hang Ten (which we just got introduced to last year), 1001 Nights, the Sizzler, and more I'm sure we're forgetting. We also rode some new rides, like one I forget the name of, but it was like this other one at our county fair years ago called "the Crazy Dance". That's not what this one was called, though. I tell ya, neither one of us were real crazy about it once we got off. I told Sis it was like a possessed Tilt-a-Whirl...lol. Except this ride had ALOT more tilt and ALOT more whirl...lol. I cannot BELIEVE I can't remember the other new rides we went on. But I know there were more of them!

Hey GUUUUYTH?? [Saturday 10.13.2007 - 1:25pm]
[ mood | mellow ]
[ music | Spirit in the Sky -- Norman Greenbaum ]

Well, it hasn't been as long since an entry as last time, but still long enough. Here's the latest!

Yesterday, Daddy put out the jack-o-lanterns on the front porch. They look really spooky...hehe!

Okay, so on Friday, Daddy, Sis, and I went to GC. It was delicious! We went to Wal-mart to pick up a few things after that. Unf., it was too cool for me to ride my scooter, so I just chilled out indoors. Which wasn't bad at all, being that Sis and I flipped between Revenge of the Sith and POTC 2...hehe.

Daddy, Sis, and I went out for pizza on Wed. It was really good, and had been awhile since we went to Pizza Inn. After that, Sis and I went to Wal-mart, which didn't have what we were looking for, so we then went to Wal-green's. I came back and rode my scooter for awhile, of course...haha. It was fun!

Well, 'round about last Thurs., I'm doing my umpteenth Sweeney Todd trailer news check, when lo and behold, I see this little blurb about some kind of satellite information, and how the trailer will be airing on those "frequencies" at certain times on Oct. 4 AND 5th! I wasn't quite sure what that meant, but I figured that it could mean only one thing...THE TRAILER WAS FINALLY ON THE WAY!! On a really cool side note, I was the first person to post the news at a place I rarely go to, and the thread I started was really active! That never happens to me, b/c a) I mostly lurk on boards anyway and b) when I do start threads, most of the time, they're just dead. But not this one. Of course, with info like this, how can it not be a huge topic?! So it really had nothing to do with me, but it was still a cool feeling nonetheless...lol.

Okay, so on to Thurs. I stayed pretty busy the whole day, so I don't get a chance to see the trailer online 'til after dinner. We went to Western Sizzlin', which was delicious, and had lots of fun. Okay, so after a really awesome night out with Sis and Daddy, I come back, and am absolutely blown away at this peek into a movie I have been anticipating since the words "Johnny Depp" and "Sweeney Todd" both appeared in the same sentence...hehe.

What's more, I keep on seeing pretty concrete reports that it's gonna be attached to "The Heartbreak Kid"!!! They actually talk about it on E!'s Daily 10, which NEVER happens, so I figure it's def. more than just a rumor. Well, since that was the movie we were probably gonna see that weekend anyway, I get to see the ST trailer DEBUT ONLINE AAAND on the BIG SCREEN...all in the same weekend!!

Before the movie, I was sooo nervous that it wasn't gonna show, b/c it was taking so long. Sis had a good laugh over my reaction as I was waiting for it, and then, my reaction when it finally did show...lol.

As for the movie, while I was bummed out that the Shawn appearance turned out to be a fluke, it turned out to be pretty good! We were all a little skeptical going in, cuz it had gotten such bad reviews by real movie fans, not just critics (who we never listen to anyway). But, while it was plenty raunchy, and def. had a few unnecessary scenes, it really was funny! Some scenes sounded a lot worse in writing than they actually were onscreen.

We saw the Game Plan week before last, and that was really good! But then again, with the Rock in it, how could it not be?! He was sooo funny, and hot, of course...hehe. Oh yeah, and...

Spoiler maybe...plus more bits about life in general )

You should've taken your...MEDEE-CATION!! [Thursday 09.27.2007 - 12:58pm]
[ mood | okay ]
[ music | Strange Days -- The Doors ]

OMG, has it really been 7 weeks since I last posted?! Yikes! Well, I guess I better get to it then, huh?

Alrighty then, so 2 weeks ago, we did something we haven't done in a LONG time! We took a day trip to the beach!! It was really fun! The primary reason we went was b/c of some business Daddy had to take care of with a man who lives down there (mostly). Sis and I started out our day with something else we haven't had in a while. And that was...Bojangles' biscuits! Haha...they were really good. Before too long, we arrived at that man's house, and Sis and I basically were told to make ourselves at home while he and Daddy went a couple of miles down the road to look at some boats (part of the business stuff). Sis and I pretty much stayed outside the whole time, walking around his yard. He had this little dock we walked on too, which went right out into an inlet. It was really pretty. Oh, and there were all these tiny crabs around, too. They were cute...hehe.

Just as I was dozing in a swing he had outdoors (haha), Daddy and the man came back, and the man told us a good public access point for the beach! So, Daddy, Sis, and I followed him down there. Then, Sis and I walked around in the waves for awhile!! At one point, I even wrote "I ♥ TLK" in the sand with my toe...hehehe. TLK meaning this, of course. Haha...couldn't resist, mate. Speaking of Jack (quotes anyway, haha), there were these kinda funky ppl that came along, and one dude had a total "hippie-ish/Capt. Jack" thing going on. 'Cept he wasn't hot...lol. Not a moment too soon after those colorful characters arrived, Daddy motioned to us that it was time to go, so that we could meet the man and his g/f for supper.

The man took us to a place that was local, and he said usually the local, out of the way places like that were the best to go to, cuz they had the best food, whereas other places might be more like "tourist traps". The food was good, but well, to be honest, they didn't give you as much as you paid for. And as far as the amount you get and the taste and all, I'd just as soon have the food from this local place we go to! But don't get me wrong, it was good! And we had fun! Plus, Sis got a souvenir shirt that's really pretty...hehe.

We had some interesting conversation, too. There's this nickname that I think Sis made up for this woman at Golden Corral, and we were referring to her by that name at one point when something that happened at GC came up in the conversation (since Daddy and that man have gone to our local one quite a bit...the man has a house here and at the beach). Well, the man's g/f was like, "Is her name really (nickname)?" It was so funny, cuz the way the woman asked, and the look on her face, was priceless. We explained that it wasn't, and how that nickname came about. Speaking of nicknames, Daddy had a name he called somebody one time, and the man was talking about it, and trying to describe what it was that Daddy called the person, b/c the man couldn't remember. So Daddy was going through a list of all these funny nicknames that were kind of in the same "family", if you will. That was funny, too.

Well, after dinner, it was time to head back. We stopped at a Wal-mart on the way back to the house, cuz I needed a new mattress pad (which, btw, has CHANGED my whole WORLD of sleeping for the better...who woulda thought something like that could mess with a peaceful slumber?!). I even had time to ride my scooter a bit when we got back! But man, after all the activities of the day, I was beat! I'm surprised I didn't get to bed way earlier than I actually did.

But anyway, it was a super fun day! It was just what we all needed! :)

In other news... )

And the landlord's family was amazed! [Monday 08.06.2007 - 2:04pm]
[ mood | busy ]
[ music | Wild Child -- The Doors ]

Well, believe it or not, I've actually been meaning to post, just haven't gotten around to it. Got lots to tell about, and I hope to get it done in a fairly short entry. But, apologies if I don't...lol. Oh, and be prepared, it's gonna bounce around alot...hehe.

Hmmm...the trouble with these long overdue entries is I never know exactly where to start. Guess I'll start with July 4th, even though that's stretching on back. But don't fret, I'm not gonna go over every single day since then...lol.

Anyway, we really had fun! We went out to eat at this really nice Western Sizzlin' we usually go to, and we saw some fireworks on the way! Then, Sis and I had a little delayed fireworks celebration 2 nights later. Daddy bought some from Wal-mart, and we had a blast! That same night, we visited this new Golden Corral that's in the same town as that really nice theater we've discovered.

DADDY PUT THE POOL UP NOT TOO LONG AGO!!! YAY!! I walked outside one night after exercising, and my mouth dropped, cuz I wasn't expecting it to be out there! Daddy and I later told Sis this story about how Cookie was doing something really cute in the golfcart to get her to go outside, and when she did, she was surprised just like me!

Daddy also did something to my comp round about last week that made it go faster! Not only that, but I'd had this problem pretty much since I got this comp where certain pics wouldn't show up. It eventually got so bad that certain headers and embedded screens and such wouldn't show up, and that would really affect my being able to view sites properly! Anyway, Daddy fixed that too! I was ecstatic, b/c after years of not being able to see adam-on-the-edge.net properly, I finally can! But that's just one thing of many that I can now see. :D

Speaking of Edge, his Mardi Gras party on SD, and the antics that came before it, was soooo funny! The way Kane kept popping up everywhere...lol. And Sis and I laughed so hard at the way the queen's head sounded when she hit the floor after being speared...haha. I just love it when Edge shows his goofy side. Reminded me of the Edge and Christian days, which I unfortunately missed out on.

Of course, Edge looked SMOOOOKIN' throughout the show!! I love it when he wears cowboy hats, and it just seems like it had been ages since he had worn one, so that was a great touch! :D

I just hate that he's now injured and had to give up the title. :( I hope his recovery goes well, and no matter how long it takes (even though I'd rather it be shorter), I just want him to be FULLY better before he ever steps foot in that ring! In the meantime, it won't be the same w/o him, but I'll get by. *sniff*

One thing (of many) that will help me get by is this new AMAZING, SEXY, AWESOME, HOT gimmick that Nitro has. I'll never forget the first time he walked out a few weeks ago. Sis noted that he was wearing something that "looked like a 70's outfit", and his hair looked the same way. WHICH WE BOTH LOVED, OF COURSE!! :D Then, he comes out to the ring, and it gets even better.

He says that, from now on, he will be known as...JOHN...MORRISON. Then, EVERYTHING makes sense. It was a late 60's/early 70's look he was going for. Or, to be specific, a JIM MORRISON look! The sunglasses, the hair, the outfit...everything. And let me tell you, he can MORE than pull it off!!! Whoo doggie!! Sis and I both realized that he actually does favor him, too! It's amazing how we didn't really notice that before, but 'tis true! Anyway, seeing as how much I ♥ the 60's, and the Doors/Jim, it's pretty frickin' awesome that one of my fave wrestlers is now tied to some of my other fave things!

Happy, Happy (belated) Birthday Jaaaaay Jaaaaaay... [Sunday 06.24.2007 - 12:45pm]
[ mood | calm ]
[ music | Magic Man -- Heart ]

Oy! There's a reason I'm cheating on the date again. Know why? Know why?! Because...MISTER JJ's birthday was last Sunday!! :D So you know what that means...a picspam is in store! :)

Ironically enough, I was sitting in the theater, watching P3 AGAIN when JJ's b-day officially arrived...lol. Aaaah I love it!! Last time I was there, it was Johnny's b-day! It had been too long, so Sis and I went for a 4th viewing. I LOVED IT JUST LIKE THE FIRST TIME!! :D That girl who went with us last time wanted to go, but she had an emergency come up at the last minute. And, as you'll see later on in the entry, we went to see it AGAIN with her!! :D Yep, I just can't get enough of this movie. Hmmmm...why does this seem so familar? Like it happened last summer and 3 summers before that? OH WAIT, CUZ IT DID HAPPEN...MWAHAHA! :P

Ppl didn't stay after the credits, mainly cuz the cleaning ppl were coming in there, obviously ready to go (it was the last showing). It was unfortunate that those ppl couldn't stay, cuz trust me, it's quite vital that you do! And, b/c me and Sis would have been THE ONLY ppl holding up the staff, we didn't wanna stay either. So we didn't get to see the part after the credits. But hey, it's not like we haven't before! Haha.

I forgot to mention that during the movie, this group of wild ppl came in about an hour into it, chattered for about 45 minutes, then left (THANK GOD!). I don't get the point of why they did that, but it was BEYOND annoying. Thank goodness they left! This lady was sitting all forward in her seat, obviously annoyed. Unlike me and Sis, she probably was seeing it for the first time and really wanted to hear what was going on! Not like me and Sis didn't, but you know what I mean. That lady NEEDED to hear it!

On the way back from the theater, there was a pretty bad incident. Basically, Sis and I were the first ppl ON (literally!) the scene of a wreck involving a motorcycle and a car! We probably came mere seconds, or at the most, 2-3 minutes, after it happened. Only one cop car was arriving so far, and nothing was marked yet, hence why I ended up running over some broken glass AND barely dodging the fallen bike in the road! It was quite unsettling in many ways, one of which being that...not sure if this next part would be considered gory or not, so I'm gonna cut it... )

On our regular movie night, Daddy, Sis, and I went to see "Evan Almighty". It was really good! We were a bit worried about how it was gonna be, with the absence of Jim Carrey and all, but it turned out really good! It was very funny, and cool, and had a great message as well.

There were some weird ppl in front of us when we were getting out popcorn, though...lol. Well, mainly one guy, but they were all were a bit outta sorts. Of course, he did say something funny about how this blue drink looked like what Luke drank in Star Wars...hehe. Anyway, so then, there were these loud ppl in the auditorium too! But, they weren't that loud throughout the movie, but at the end, there were some pure crazy acting ppl! We're not sure if it was the same ones or not.

Being that it was JJ's b-day, Sis and I were Duked out, of course...hehe. She had on her blue 4 shirt, and I was wearing my blue 2006 ACC champs shirt. :D It was a fun night all around!

Whoa, okay, the paragraphs up to this point were written a few days before this one. Crazy, I know. But, that's just how I do. I've been kinda busy. Anyhoo, since the above was written, I went to see POTC 3 AGAIN!! That makes it 5 times I've seen it now! We went with that girl we were gonna go with last time, and it was so fun! Daddy went with us (me, her, and Sis), which I was glad about, b/c we saw it a new theater that I wasn't familiar with how to get to. It was a really nice place!

More about 5th P3 experience, JJ-ness, thoughts, and other happenings in the last few days )

Happy, Happy (belated) Birthday baaaabbbbbyyy... [Saturday 06.09.2007 - 11:21am]
[ mood | giddy ]
[ music | Johnny Depp -- Amy Anne ]

I meant to post this DAYS ago, as you can tell by the date...hehe.

I had a really fun time celebrating a very special day on Saturday. That day being JOHNNY'S BIRTHDAY!! Hehe. Daddy arranged for me and Sis to go with a girl who worked with a man he's in business with to Pirates 3...for the THIRD time!! I think she's my age, and she loves Johnny like me and Sis do! AND although she'd seen the movie, she wanted to see it again and again...just like me and Sis did! She's really nice, and it's really cool how much me and Sis have in common with her! I have honestly never known someone that I have that much in common with. Even my former best friend and I weren't that alike!

To give you a rundown, here's a few things we have in common. Besides the Johnny love, she ALSO loves wrestling! AND...she likes the Monkees, too! I don't know if she's the super-obsessed fan like I am, but Daddy told me she had Season 1 of the show! I don't know that I've EVER met a fan of ALL THREE of my main interests like that!! I mean, it's so rare, b/c they're so varied. Daddy said she was surprised that we liked wrestling!

We've also got similar viewpoints on alot of stuff, and we're natured alike, except she's more outgoing (which I wish I could be!). Like Sis and me, she's just as happy sitting home and watching movies/getting online/playing video games as she is going out! And when I mentioned on the way to the movie that I liked riding my scooter when the weather was pretty, she said she had one too! Oh yeah, and we were going to the late showing of P3, which brings me to my next point...she likes going to late movies, too (b/c there's less of a crowd...which is one of our reasons for going to late ones!)!

Speaking of crowds, there was def. plenty of ppl in there! Moreso than last time! They were pretty lively, though. Of course, alot of times, Sis, me, and that girl would be laughing at the same parts that not necessarily everyone else would be laughing at! Yet another thing we had in common...hehe. It was really cool.

As for the movie itself, I enjoyed it even more the 3rd time around, if that's even possible...hehe. I notice something new everytime I go, and at the same time, I somehow miss things I may have seen another time, but didn't see this time...haha.

More about the weekend and such... )

UuuuuuuuuUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!! [Wednesday 06.06.2007 - 11:49am]
[ mood | good ]
[ music | "Up is Down" -- P3 ST ]

Aaaalrighty then...I know, it's surprising to me too that I'm writing again this soon...lol. But there's just some things I have to say. Updates and such, you know.

Okay, so Sis and I were watching the MTV Movie Awards (recorded on the new DVR :D) early Mon. morning. Most of it we fast-forwarded (like usual). As we were going through the show, we were talking about how the best shows were probably '05 and '04, the years that they had the SW spoof, and of course, when Johnny won! Up 'til about the last 10 minutes of the show (which I'm getting to...hehe), there had only been a few memorable/funny moments, such as the United 300 spoof, the whole little skit about finding a replacement host for Jim Carrey, Sarah Silverman's (even though she annoys me) Paris jokes (which I actually saw later on the 'net), and Will Ferrell and Sasha Baron Cohen's acceptance speech antics...lol. Naturally, the only reason Sis and I were "screening" the show was to see if POTC 2/Johnny won anything. And, time and time again, we'd witness the over-hyped movies we cared nothing about getting awards and/or P2 not winning or even being nominated when it should have.

Okay, well we FINALLY made it to the "Best Performance" segment of the show, and Johnny was nominated! Sis and I gained some conciousness back (lol) as the nominees were read, but with the pattern of how the rest of the show was going, we didn't have high hopes. That's NOT a lack of faith in Johnny's performance, mind you, but in how the MTV crowd had voted. I named 2 ppl who I figured would win the category if Johnny didn't, based on what had been hyped during the whole show. And, I'm thrilled to say I WAS WRONG ON BOTH COUNTS, B/C JOHNNY WON!!! NOW, at this point, I was plenty excited, and was anticipating seeing one of his cute little video speeches. But guess what?

Here's the kicker...plus some other bits! )

What arrrr ya doin'?! [Tuesday 05.29.2007 - 2:07pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]
[ music | (the title to this song is SPOILERISH!)-- P3 ST ]

Some of the most awesome, coolest, grooviest, amazing things have happened in the last few days. In fact, most of the things I'm referring to happened on the SAME day!

First, I'll go ahead and state the blatantly obvious. I WENT TO SEE POTC 3 ON THURSDAY AT 9!! It was AWEsome! Hehe. Get it? The movie is called "At World's End" and it's AWEsome? Okay, I'll shut it...haha. Anyhoo, all my thoughts are below the spoiler cut, cuz whether it's a spoiler or not, I'm gonna put it in there...just in case! ;)

Arrr there be spoilers ahead! )

We were lucky that the crowd wasn't too bad. There were ppl all in the theater (including employees) dressed in diff. piratey things, like hats and such. But one guy a few rows down from us was dressed in a FULL pirate costume! So that was cool.

Now, as if seeing POTC 3 wasn't thrilling and AWEsome enough, here's a few other things that happened that day to make that pretty much one of the best days ever! I dunno when that many groovy things have happened in one day like that before!

Ok, so anyway, on the way to the theater, Daddy shows me this ad in a little sales mag with DMC playing on some laptops and stuff. Well, little did I know, that was kind of a "warm-up" for something else...hehe. When we're about halfway to the movies, he gets Sis to grab some bags from the back. Inside the bags are THE ROLLING STONE MAGS WITH JOHNNY ON THE COVER! I had asked Daddy to pick us up some when he went to town that day, if he didn't mind, and that was only in case he was in that section of town. But I totally forgot that I asked him! So I was really surprised! It was amazing getting to stare at Johnny's face all the way to the theater, and then again on the HUGE screen...haha!

New DVR, some JJ-ness, Shrek, and more! )

For awhiiiiiile [Monday 05.14.2007 - 12:13pm]
[ mood | busy ]
[ music | The Kill (Bury Me) -- 30 Seconds to Mars ]

So guess who saw Spidey 3 at midnight last Thurs.? That's right! Me, Daddy, and Sis! Actually, we saw it around 1, b/c we were able to go to the MUCH less crowded employee showing! The SAME manager (who's SUPER nice) who let us do the same exact thing with "Star Wars: ROTS" was there, and she let us do the same thing with Spidey. It was really fun! Someone (the manager possibly) brought some cupcakes around the time the movie started, and one of the employees offered some to us! I had one, and it was really good. That was soooo nice!

The movie was AWESOME, too!! But since, pretty much everything I'm gonna say about it is gonna be a spoiler, I'm just gonna put a cut for safety purposes...hehe.

Friendly neighborhood SPOILERS! )

We didn't go out to eat like we normally do last Friday, so instead we went out on Sunday before the movies. Sis came up with a really neat idea to go somewhere we usually don't go, and her and Daddy both surprised me with the idea. I was genuinely surprised that we ended up at a local seafood place that we love! It was really delicious!

After that, we had quite a little adventure at the movies. Ok, so we walk up to the door about 5 minutes after the last showing of "Lucky You" was supposed to start. Well, the theater (the one with the digital screens) we went to is notorious for having REALLY long previews, so we were pretty sure we weren't gonna miss anything, even though it was about 5 minutes after the posted showing. Anyway, so when we go up to the doors, ALL of them are locked, and they're cleaning up!! Keep in mind the last showing of the last movie has JUST started! Not only that, but two other dudes had come up too, and they were trying to get in!

Well, the employees were cleaning up behind the snack bar and everything, and they could CLEARLY see that we were standing there, but no one bothered to come tell us anything. FINALLY, after Daddy and the other guys persisted, someone came to the door (someone who DIDN'T EVEN WORK THERE!) and said they were closed. Daddy then told the guy in the theater that there was a movie that had just started that we were trying to get in to see. But there really wasn't nothing the dude could do about it, cuz I mean, he didn't work there! And no employee bothered to come out from behind the snack counter to tell us anything. There was a policeman who usually is in there too, and he was kinda walking around not saying anything.

Well, after not really getting any answers as to WHY they were closing early, we and those 2 guys left. When Daddy, Sis, and I got in the car, we were on the way to pick up a movie from Blockbuster when we got the idea to call the theater and see if we could get some real answers that way. Or possibly even get in, since there was still time to catch the movie. Daddy called and ended up talking the manager, and we were able to get in. Not only that, BUT we got free popcorn, drinks AND the movie was free! So basically, their mistake of closing early (not to mention their out and out rudeness) cost them...literally!

And would you believe, after all that, we didn't miss one minute of the movie? The last preview was finishing up when we walked in.

About the movie, plus Johnny, P3, and more! )

Real love is forever... [Sunday 04.29.2007 - 1:33pm]

OMG! It is too cool that you can embed media now! I was afraid that you could only do it on LJ, but I found out the same code works here! Yippee! Haha...yes, it doesn't take much to excite me...lol. And you'll see why I'm so excited about this new breakthrough a little later in this entry.

So anyway, when we went to the movies a couple of weeks ago (on Easter!), I had just been lamenting to Sis about how they better get up a POTC 3 poster in the movies soon...haha. Well, as soon as we walk up to the door good, GUESS WHO'S PRETTY FACE I SEE STARING OUT BETWEEN THE TICKET COUNTERS?? None other than JOHNNY'S!! AAAAH!! I totally flipped out. It's so weird how 2 seconds before I had been griping over the poster delay, and then, there's a HUGE one hanging from the ceiling between the two ticket counters! And there's this blue light that shines on it, so all that makes for a really beautiful spectacle...hehe. Once we got to the snack counter, I discover that it's TWO-SIDED!! So basically, one side looks like this and the side toward the snack bar looks like this. So yeah, I LOVED IT! The movie we saw that week was "Are We Done Yet." It was funny, esp. that guy who was the head of their home renovations (hehe). He sooo reminded us of someone we're always joking about...lol. But I think my fave one is the first one (Are We There Yet). But this one's good too.

Before the movies, we ate at a new local authentic Mexican restaurant. It was alright. But, believe it or not, we prefer somewhere like Taco Bell...hehe. Of course, the ultimate Mexican food is Daddy's!! That's no lie. And I've been to a few authentic Mexican food restaurants, and I still would choose Daddy's over all the places I've been!

For the last few Fridays, when we'd go to Golden Corral, we'd see this boy with his parents (mentioned in this entry as "the talkative boy"). And it's just so funny to watch him, b/c of his talkative nature. This past Friday, Daddy said the funniest remark when the boy was walking past the bar, and I was ROLLING with laughter...haha. Sis and I have gotten to the point now where we wonder if he's gonna be there each week, b/c he's so entertaining to watch...lol. Unfortunately, he didn't make an appearance this week. HOWEVER, the Liu Kang Cutie did! Yay! ;)

It's been too long since I've got to ride my scooter so much, but I finally have in the past week or so, now that the weather's warmed up! Yay!

We went to that Chinese place we've been going to regularly since Christmas on Wed. The food was phenomenal, but our waitress had kind of an attitude problem. We developed a theory as to why after a question she asked while Daddy and Sis were away from the table. The question was, "Is he (Daddy) your husband?" I told her he was my dad, and it's like, after that, her whole attitude changed! So that made us wonder if maybe she was acting so weird b/c she thought Daddy was married to some girl way younger than him...hehe. I have no idea how she could have drawn that conclusion, unless it was b/c I was sitting beside him...haha.

After that, Sis and I went to Wal-mart. We played in scoped out the toy section. They have the most awesome POTC and Star Wars stuff! There was lots of new WWE stuff, too! The most I've ever seen in Wal-mart, in fact. Oh, and speaking of which, I was browsing through WWE mag later on, and they had a review of POTC 3 in there! Not only that, but they gave it the best rating you could give! So that was amazing!

Weeeeellllllaaaaa... [Friday 04.06.2007 - 12:39pm]

Well, like I've been saying nonstop for the past month or so, I've finally got around to making a real entry...hehe. So now, without further ado, here's some tidbits from the last couple of weeks or so. It turned out alot longer than I thought it'd be, so beware...haha. Also, it'll probably bounce around alot, so I hope it's not too confusing...lol.

Sis's turned a year older a couple of weeks ago! We went out to Ruby Tuesday's, and that was delicious. Sis and I both got the same thing, which we'd never got before, and it was really yummy! I'll probably end up getting the same thing the next time I go in there! Daddy tried to get them to sing to her, but b/c of some lawsuit (yes, lawsuit!) that was still being worked out, they're not allowed to sing "Happy Birthday" to anyone! That's totally redickulous (yes, I meant to spell it that way...lol), but people these days are hard to figure out. I mean, it's not the staff's fault that someone got them to sing to someone! It's whoever asked the employee to sing's fault! Geez. Anyhoo, so after that, we stopped by Wal-mart, so I could run in and get a present. It had just dawned on me what the perfect gift for her would be.

After that quick stop, we got to the house, and she opened her gift from me and Daddy that I had just got. It was "Mortal Kombat: Armageddon", and she was really happy about it! That's a game she'd been wanting for awhile. Then, Mama came and she got some DUKE bedroom shoes and some candy from her! Well, then it was time for the cake. Daddy told me and Sis that he had to "unwrap" something, so Sis needed to get out...hehe. Then, in seconds, he said we could go back in there. Her cake was lit using a 1 and a 7 candle, and it was this light blue sea-themed cake...complete with a POTC 3 PIC ON IT!!! It had, "Arrrrgh, it's your birthday again! Happy Birthday!" written on it. Daddy had shown me the cake earlier, and I totally flipped out...haha. Hehe...I knew she'd love it...just like I would! The pic Daddy had put on there was this one. Hehehe. Sis loved the cake, and was really surprised! We all had a fun time!

Oh, one more thing...as usual, there was a big to-do about putting the pic on the cake b/c of copyright stuff. But, Daddy was finally able to find a place who'd do it, and he got it put on there through a very interesting means...hehe.

Later, on that Friday, Sis got another late b-day surprise (along with a surprise for me, too!). Daddy got a great deal on some bigger comp monitors, and so he bought me and Sis each a new monitor, plus one for a friend of his, plus one for the living room comp (which needed it badly...that monitor's been flickering inexplicably for a little while now)! So that was AWESOME!!!!

We continued Sis's b-day celebration on Sunday by going to a local steakhouse we'd been meaning to go to for awhile. We don't go there as often as we used to, so when we do go, it's a real treat. As always, the food was MELT IN YOUR MOUTH delicious! I dunno what they do, but that roast beef they cook is unlike any I've ever tasted, or probably ever will taste. It's amazing.

I was afraid that they were out of cheesecake, so Daddy, being the AMAZING daddy he is, asked the waitress about it, and she gave me the last 2 SLICES!! I shouldn't have eaten both, but I just about did...lol.

After that, we went bowling, which was super fun!! Sis and I both did better than we have other times. The Carolina/Georgetown game was on in there, and we first got in there around halftime. Well, UNC was staying ahead most of the time, so Sis and I used several anger tactics about that to help us with our bowling...lol. Well, as the second half wound down, I was going ahead and mentally preparing myself for Carolina to win and be going to the Final Four. *GAG* Then, something miraculous happens. I see that G-town is catching up! Then, this really nifty shot went in that TIED THE GAME!! AND THEY WENT INTO OVERTIME!! OMG, we were ecstatic. After that, G-town kept up the pace, kept scoring...and CAROLINA DID NOT!! THEY LOST, AND G-TOWN WON!! AND THIS ALL HAPPENED RIGHT AT THE END! The dude bowling beside us was a UNC fan, so he visibly wasn't too pleased. At first, Sis thought he may have been like us (maybe a Dukie?) and had been cheering against Carolina. But, he wasn't.

More about Sis's b-day fun, Wrestlemania 23, JJ goodness, and MUCH more! )
